About Me
Hi! I am Cara and I am glad you are here. I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) and I obtained my Master’s degree from Nazareth College. I am trained as a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS). I have been working as a therapist for 15 years and I am truly passionate in the work that I do. I specialize in the treatment of eating disorders, anxiety, poor self-esteem, and life transitions. I work primarily with adolescents and adults. Prior to opening my own private practice in Fairport, NY, I had experience working at an eating disorder partial hospital, two mental health clinics, in the psychiatric emergency department at a hospital, at a county jail, and as a school social worker.
Therapy Style
I offer a warm, welcoming, and non-judgmental environment. I utilize a variety of therapeutic approaches based on individual needs. The basis of my approach is psychodynamic, person-centered, and relational. I also integrate Parts work, Schema therapy, Coherence therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions) therapy, and Motivational Interviewing into my practice.
Insurances that I am currently in network with include Excellus Blue Cross Blue Shield, MVP, Aetna, Cigna, United Healthcare (Optum), Oxford (Optum), Oscar (Optum), Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, Highmark BCBS of Western NY, and Highmark Blue Shield of Northeastern NY. I provide superbills as requested for other insurance companies.
Private pay rate is $150 for an intake evaluation and $135 per 60-minute session.
